About the Session |
In 2004 a unique partnership grew
out of a desire to support the neediest young people across our
county. The Shared Youth Vision Federal Partnership joined together
in an “uncommon coalition” of federal agencies who began working
shoulder to shoulder with state agency representatives in a serious,
common- sense approach to collaboration that would impact policy
and practice, and services and service delivery, at the federal,
state and local levels.
Ultimately, sixteen states joined
the Federal Team in a pilot process to mirror the federal collaboration
– while focused on a targeted population of young people in a specific
geographic area of their state.
On July 14 & 15, 2008 federal,
state and local partners will come together in New Orleans to examine
the work of the Shared Youth Vision process, take a look back –
and a look ahead – as we explore the systemic impact this collaboration
has produced to date, and the evolving process of supports necessary
for success for our youth, our agencies, and our future.
Please join us in our Workforce
Innovations Pre-Conference Session in New Orleans as we dig into
to the effective practices that have been implemented, the unfolding
story of the pilot states both on the ground and at the state level,
and the emerging challenges in store for all of us as we move forward.
